This top quality amethyst druzy is from Uruguay and has an incredible depth of colour. 
Found in the fractures and cavities of igneous rock amethyst is a very popular variety of quartz.  The purple colour occurs when the slow growing crystal incorporates iron into the surface and this iron is modified by radiation emitted by minerals in the surrounding rock.   

Associated with spirituality, protection and purification amethyst is said to be calming and balancing bringing inner peace and healing of mind, body and soul.  It is associated with the Third Eye & Crown Chakras.
